The Countdown is on there is only one week left until the opening day of Dall Sheep season. Conor and his assistant guide and packer left Healy yesterday with the horses to get out to hunting camp a few days early and set up base camp. The first clients arrive on Friday for the first 2015 Dall Sheep hunts. Looking forward to another great season and good luck to all the hunters out there.

With the beginning of the fall hunting season rapidly approaching we continue our preparations for the fall hunting season by putting shoes on all 12 horses, fitting tack, repairing gear that has minor breaks from the spring bear hunts and getting the horses back in shape (they need a workout to after being off for the past seven months). The fall season begins in August with Dall sheep hunts and then Moose hunts in September.
Spring grizzly bear hunts have just finished so now it is time to get things ready for the fall hunting season. The next week consists of building fences, getting hay and getting the watering tank ready for the horses. As we do horseback hunts in Alaska we bring the horses up from the boarding facility in June and work with them until August when the Fall hunts begin so we will be busy prepping all things horse for the next week.
Rampage Alaska offers Dall sheep hunts, Grizzly Bear hunts and moose hunts in the interior of Alaska.
This fine Dall sheep ram was taken in the Alaska Range.
